At ROOTS & WINGS, we are deeply thankful to everyone who has supported our organization since its establishment in 2020. We are thrilled to announce plans for an in-person event to show our appreciation. We invite you to join us for a celebratory walk in Wilmette, IL, where ROOTS & WINGS is headquartered.
Please join us on 09.21 for your final mile of Move IV MBC 2024.
We will start at Wilmette’s Village Hall at 9am and conclude our journey at Gillson Beach. Let's gather to rejuvenate, refresh, and celebrate with brunch bites and refreshments at The Lakeview Center while supporting the MBC community!
Sign Up by 09.14: $75 Donation per Adult. All ages are welcome.
Let's Get Together

Wilmette’s Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave
Check-In: Participants can check in at 9am outside Village Hall near the fountain.
Entry Ticket: At check-in, you will receive a MOVE IV MBC hat to unify our crew as we walk. It is your entry ticket into The Lakeview Center celebration.
BONUS: Central Station Coffee will offer participants wearing hats a complimentary beverage during check-in!

MOVE IV MBC Walking Route:
From the Village Hall, we will go northeast on Wilmette Ave for 0.2 miles until we reach Lake Ave.
We will turn right (east) onto Lake Ave and walk for 0.8 miles.
We will turn right (southeast) onto Michigan Ave for 387 feet.
Our last turn is an unmarked left, but signs will direct you to the Lakeview Center entrance.
If you have questions during the walk, please find a board member or volunteer wearing the hat below. They would be happy to help!

The Lakeview Center at Gillson Beach, 800 Gillson Beach Drive
Post-Walk Celebration: we invite you to rejuvenate, refresh, and celebrate with brunch and refreshments at The Lakeview Center.
Rejuvenate with coffee and tea from Central Station, along with other refreshment offerings. Refresh as you enjoy delicious options from Towne & Oak, Chia Leah, Double Clutch, Three Tarts Bakery, and more. Celebrate as you sip on a mimosa, enjoy the view of the lake and great company.

Public Transportation
Metra (Recommended): The Wilmette Metra Station (Union Pacific North (UP-N)) is next to Wilmette’s Village Hall.

Driving & Parking
I-94 Edens Expressway: Lake Ave, westbound exit, and eastbound entrance; signed as exits 34B (west) and 34C (east).
VILLAGE HALL Downtown Parking Options:
Metra Station: The Wilmette Metra Station has 270 free parking spaces on Saturdays. It can be busy with Wilmette’s French Market just east of the station (8am-1pm).
Wilmette Ave & Central Ave: Free on-street parking for 1 to 3 hours.
GILLSON BEACH Parking Lot:
Want to walk a mile before we get together? Park at Gillson Beach and walk to the Village Hall before MOVE IV MBC check-in. The Gillson Parking Lot is free on 09.21 and is next to the Lakeview Center.
